The argument

Advice that has to survive delivery

The conventional model separates the party that recommends from the party that implements. The recommendation is complete when the document is delivered, and whatever the implementation then discovers is someone else's problem.

Innate is structured differently. Because the firm builds systems as well as advising on them, every architecture decision, timeline and estimate is made by people who will be held to it. That constrains what we recommend, and it constrains what we are willing to promise.

It also changes the shape of an engagement. Where a recommendation cannot be implemented within the client's constraints, that is established during the advisory work rather than discovered a quarter later by a delivery team with no authority to revisit the decision.

What this means in practice

Four things that follow from it

01

We build, not only advise

Innate develops software alongside its advisory work. Architecture recommendations come from people who have had to implement them, which changes both what we recommend and what we are willing to promise.

02

Frameworks we operate ourselves

ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 20000-1 govern how we handle client data, review work before it leaves, and respond when something goes wrong on a managed service. We advise on frameworks we are audited against.

03

Finance and technology in one place

Most problems that reach a consultant are neither purely financial nor purely technical. Having both practices under one roof removes the handover where accountability usually disappears.

04

Built for scrutiny

Work for government departments and educational institutions is assessed on documentation and audit trail as much as outcome. That standard applies to every engagement, not only the ones that demand it.

Certifications & standards

Standards we are audited against

The three standards below are not credentials held in reserve for tenders. They set how client data is handled, how work is reviewed before it leaves, and what happens when something goes wrong on a managed service. Advising on a framework the firm is itself assessed under is a materially different exercise from advising on one read about.

  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022Information Security Management

Governs how client data is classified, stored, accessed and disposed of, and how security risk is assessed on every engagement.

  • ISO 9001:2015Quality Management

Defines the delivery process, review gates and corrective action loop behind every deliverable Innate signs off.

  • ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018IT Service Management

Sets the incident, change and service level framework used on managed IT and support engagements.

How we work

Three commitments that decide what we take on

They govern which mandates we accept, how the work is reviewed, and what a client can hold us to once it is finished.

01Quality
Disciplined execution and evidence-based insight, aimed at outcomes that are precise, actionable and measurable against standards a client can verify.
02Reliability
Consistency, accountability and clear communication. Clients depend on us through decisions that are difficult to reverse, and that dependence is the product.
03Sustainability
Value created through responsible governance and efficient operations, supporting long-term growth rather than results that cost more later than they returned.

Start with the problem, not the proposal

A short conversation is usually enough to establish whether Innate is the right firm for the work. Where we are not, we will say so.
